Steven Edmund Winduo is a writer scholar from Papua New Guinea. He is affiliated with University of Minnesota (USA), University of Hawaii (USA), University of Canterbury, New Zealand, and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology Australia. He teaches Literature in the University of Papua New Guinea. His four collections of poetry: 'Lomo’ha I am in Spirit’s Voice I Call' (1991), 'Hembemba: Rivers of the Forest' (2000), 'A Rower’s Song' (2009), and 'Detwan How?' (2012). He has a short story collection: 'The Unpainted Mask' (2010), a novel 'Land Echoes' (2014), and a personal development book 'Imagination is Everything' (2021). The edited volumes he has credits for include 'Critical and Developmental Literacy' with Otto Nekitel and Sakarepe Kamene (UPNG Press, PNG), 'Zia Writers of Waria' with Sakarepe Kamane (MAPS, PNG) and 'Reframing Indigenous Knowledge: Cultural Knowledge and Practice in Papua New Guinea' (MAPS, PNG). He has also published children’s books.
Where I live on shores of Port Moresby urban population increase has forced people to destroy mangroves for housing. Blue Climate is a risky proposition. Mangroves must be protected.
